What is Manufacturing Warehousing?
Manufacturing warehousing covers storage and logistics solutions specifically designed to support production processes, rather than just hold finished stock. Unlike standard warehousing, which can leave stock from virtually any industry or sector in storage, warehousing for manufacturing can ensure raw materials, components, tools, finished goods and more all receive the proper, streamlined storage they need until they’re ready to move onto the next stage in the process.
- Free up factory floor space by storing materials and finished goods off-site
- Reduce the risk of production delays caused by stock mismanagement
- Scale storage capacity in line with production output or seasonal demand
- Streamline inbound and outbound logistics with a single partner
- Improve cash flow by storing finished goods until they’re needed for distribution
If you want to focus on production, not logistics, partnering with a proper storage and warehousing expert like John K Philips is an easy choice.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a minimum storage commitment?
Many manufacturing warehousing systems will stick you with endless quantity rules. But we pride ourselves on being a flexible partner, so we offer customisable storage plans that grow with your business. While some dedicated setups might have specific terms, we generally offer short-term and rolling agreements that allow you to scale your space up or down based on your current production needs. This means you aren’t locked into paying for massive amounts of empty space during quieter months.
Where is your manufacturing warehousing facility located?
Our main operations are strategically centred in Warrington, at the heart of the North West’s industrial corridor. This location is perfect for manufacturers because it sits right at the intersection of the M6, M62, and M56. Being so close to major motorway networks – and within easy reach of Manchester and Liverpool – means we can get your materials in and your finished goods out faster than almost anyone else in the region.
How do you handle finished goods distribution?
Once your products are fully assembled and inspected, they move into our Finished Goods Inventory. From there, we take total control of the “last mile”:
- Real-Time Tracking: We use an advanced barcode tracking system so you can see exactly when your goods are picked, packed, and loaded.
- UK-Wide Reach: Through our own fleet and extensive pallet networks, we can deliver your finished products to retailers, wholesalers, or direct-to-consumer anywhere in the UK. No more bouncing between different distribution centres.
- Expert Handling: Whether it’s bulky industrial components or fragile consumer items, our team is trained to handle and protect your stock until it reaches its final destination.
Do you offer just-in-time (JIT) delivery to our production facility?
Yes, we do! We know that modern manufacturing relies on “lean” processes, where having too much stock on the factory floor just gets in the way. With our Just-In-Time delivery service, we act as your off-site stockroom. We coordinate closely with your production schedule to deliver raw materials or components exactly when they’re needed for a specific job – not a moment sooner. This helps you cut down on waste, reduce storage costs at your own site, and keep your production lines moving smoothly.
